Expats Moving to Spain
Although Spain has beautiful beaches that stretch for kilometers, a long history, the mountains of Andaluca, active cities, and a sunny environment throughout, migrating here will be a difficult undertaking in the absence of competent international packers and movers. To put an end to your quest for la Vida local, you need to call skilled movers who can safely transport your things to this enthralling area.
Working
Knowing how to find work in Spain as a foreigner is not an easy task. In general, speaking Spanish makes it simpler to integrate into the Spanish labour market, although speaking English is also a plus.
If you intend to relocate to Spain, make sure you have a job lined up ahead of time. As a foreigner, it is more difficult to get work in Spain if the occupation is not on the shortage occupation list maintained by the Public Employment Service (Servicio Pblico de Empleo Estatal).
In Spain, the average annual pay is not very high. Workers earn an average of 23,000 EUR (25,300 USD), which is already a good wage. The monthly minimum wage is approximately 1,000 EUR (1,100 USD).
If you intend to operate as a self-employed person in Spain, ensure that you have all of the relevant documentation, such as a business plan, proof of financial funds, and so on, to submit with your visa application. As a self-employed worker, we will also discuss your social security benefits and parental leave in this part.
Education
The options for schooling can vary from co-educational to single-gendered, and from Catholic to secular. Educational Institutions can be divided into public, private,semi-private, and international schools. Public schools are free for expats once they have registered on the Empadronamientoat their local town hall, and parents only need to pay for books and extra-curricular activities.
Semi-private schools offer low fees and smaller class sizes, but their standards vary from one area to another. Short-term expats prefer International schools in Spain as they offer the International Baccalaureate (IB)/course of their home country. Parents need to consider factors like curriculum, primary teaching language, tuition fees, length of their stay in Spain, child’s age, etc…before picking any school.
Housing
Expats can enjoy a wide range of accommodation options on rent in Spain. There are free-standing villas and houses on the outskirts of the city or furnished/unfurnished apartments in the downtown areas of big cities like Madrid, Seville, Barcelona, and more. Rent will be higher near places closer to the city center. The lease can be a year-long and 2-6 months’ rent down payment may be required.
Expats must try to include accommodation, stipend in their employment contracts and check local newspapers for listings or conduct online searches for accommodation options before relocating to Spain.
